COURSE DESCRIPTION

CJ& 106 — Intro to Juvenile Justice  (5 cr)

Students are introduced to patterns of juvenile crime and delinquency and theories of juvenile criminology. Students will learn theories of how environment, biology, and culture impact juvenile crime. Students will receive an overview of the functions and purpose of juvenile law, as well as the procedures for arrest, detention, petition, records, interviewing, and constitutional law surrounding the processing of juvenile offenders.
